Meet the Planets
The planets and the aspects that form between them over time is the basis of all astrological forecasting and prediction. The fundamental attributes and themes of the planets (below) indicate the types of events we may see manifest in our physical world, under the right conditions. Although there are many other celestial bodies and sensitive points meaningful in the science of astrological forecasting and prediction, the eight below are the foundation.
Mercury: All means and modes of information transference.
The internet, print and digital media, markets, exchanges, communication, language, thought processes, feedback loops, biological processes, circulation systems, mechanical circuitry, cellular processes, systems, transportation, roadways and supply chains.
The Shadow: Nervous energy, static, system overload, process malfunction.
Venus: All things universally valued.
Money, high-value objects, collective perceptions of physical beauty, attractiveness, and personal magnetism. Social harmony and pleasantry, fine dining, congeniality, cordialness, stimulating and agreeable conversation, peacefulness, balance, beautiful art and gardens, symmetry, cleanliness and order.
The Shadow: May signify misplaced values (i.e, form over substance), shallowness, and over-emphasis on appearances and other surface-level aspects.
Mars: The impetus of all action.
Events, circumstances, and prominent figures that embody creative energy, charisma, impulse, stimulant, sports, competition, and the application of outward force. Strategy and forward motion towards an intended outcome. The assertion of the individual will and expression, separate from the collective. The spark that creates all concerted effort towards a goal or desired outcome.
The Shadow: May signify selfishness, conflict, hostility, war, and disconnectedness from the higher faculties of spirit.
Jupiter: All things fundamental to true growth and expansion.
Events, circumstances, and prominent figures that embody the energy of the higher faculties of spirit such as hope, optimism, confidence, open-mindedness, humor, truth, higher consciousness, and all things conducive to true expansion and growth.
The Shadow: Also signifies elements of false growth and expansion such as unwarranted optimism, over-confidence, fervor, and recklessness.
Saturn: All things fundamental to the universal laws of cause and effect.
Events, circumstances, and prominent figures that embody the universal law of cause and effect. The results and natural consequences of past collective decisions and actions. Collective sowing and reaping. The slow climb to maturity, advanced skill, and wisdom, built upon persistent building, seeking, and dedication.
The Shadow: The eventual and inevitable reaping of past irresponsible choices.
Uranus: All things fundamental to paradigm shifts.
Institutions, companies, events, and prominent figures that usher in the discovery of knowledge, including technology, that ushers in a new era or collective paradigm shift. Collective shock from sudden news, understanding, or truth. Freedom of untruths and confining beliefs. Mass shifts in perception and ideas. Knowledge, tools, and understanding that moves us towards unity. The recognition of the universal oneness of humanity.
The Shadow: Disorienting shocks to the status quo, which may spark fear, uncertainty, and tumult.
Neptune: All things fundamental to the perception of reality.
Institutions, companies, events, and prominent figures capable of arousing imagination, inspiration or deception on a mass scale. Charm, charisma, glamour, and veneer. Magic. The dissolution of lines between matter and spirit. Things felt and perceived, yet unseen.
The Shadow: Delusion, confusion, misinterpretation, escapism.
Pluto: All things fundamental to power and control.
Institutions, companies, events, and prominent figures that embody the energy of power, control, and insurmountable force. The puppet-master, the system, the overseer, the levers of power. The forces and laws of nature, as well as man-made bulwarks of might and power. The natural breakdown or destruction proceeding rebirth and renewal.
The Shadow: Subversive, subtle, and unseen forces organized and directed towards widespread control. The ugly, buried monsters that haunt our collective consciousness.
